Short version: this app collects nothing. Everything you log stays in a database file on your own device. There are no accounts, no analytics, no ads, and no servers to send your data to.

What the app stores

The foods you create, the entries you log, your daily goals, any custom nutrient fields, and your app settings are written to a database file inside the app's private storage on your phone. Cover photos you attach to a food are stored the same way. None of it leaves the device unless you move it yourself, for example through a device backup you have configured with Apple or Google.

What the app collects about you

Nothing. The app has no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, and no user accounts. It does not build a profile of you and there is no data for us to sell, share, or hand over, because none of it reaches us in the first place.

Photos and camera

You can attach a cover image to a food, either from your photo library or by taking a picture. The app asks for that permission only at the moment you choose to add an image, and the resulting image is saved with the food on your device. You can decline the permission and keep using every other part of the app.

Tips and donations

  • On iOS, optional tips are processed by Apple through in-app purchase. Apple handles the payment and we never receive your card details or contact information. Tips unlock nothing in the app.
  • On Android, the app may link to third-party pages such as Buy Me a Coffee or Ko-fi. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and anything you enter there is handled by them, not by us.

Children

The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal information from anyone, regardless of age.

Deleting your data

Deleting individual foods and entries inside the app removes them from the database. Uninstalling the app removes the database entirely. Because no copy exists anywhere else, that is the end of it.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at https://trashbox.io/apps/CalorieTracker/privacy with a new date at the top. Material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
